I bought a u1, it was a lemon. It was replaced. The replacement was a borderline lemon. Lots of mostly minor repairs and replaced a filament feeder and toolhead #1 (Snapmaker sent the parts). A 2nd toolhead may have failed. I had on my own bought a spare for both toolhead 1 and 2, and so used the spare part to finish the print. I will take the 2nd failed toolhead apart and see if it is just a nozzle or something more. My other u1 has never had a problem, and just works. Support is good. Some teething pains, to be certain. They are fun though. And despite the issues, I don't regret my purchases.

Need help with picking a printer

Given your specific situation, I'd probably spring for the CC2. The U1 would be tempting if you plan on doing a lot of multi color, but tool changers are the next big thing in consumer 3D printing. I'm confident that a year from now, there will be triple the number of tool changer options, and there's a good chance the U1 will no longer be the best option/value at that point. The CC2 will get you a solid option to do everything you're looking for without breaking the bank, and then if you love it, a year from now you could spring for a tool changer upgrade that'll be better than the current options. If not, you've saved a good amount of money.

Aurora Tech - Snapmaker U1: My Verdict After 1,000+ Hours | 4-Toolhead Tool Changer 3D IN-DEPTH Review

I’ve been racking my brain for a month trying to figure out which printer to buy next, and I just couldn’t decide between the Snapmaker U1 and the Flashforge Creator 5. Aside from the fact that the Creator 5 is cheaper than the U1, it also seemed a bit faster on paper. The more videos and reviews I watched, the more confused I got, instead of feeling helped in making a decision. In the end, I got tired of thinking, researching, and worrying about whether I’d make the wrong decision or if the extra cost of the U1 would really be worth it. I just went ahead and ordered the U1, but I still have a queasy feeling and am kind of scared it won’t be as good as everyone says. I’m afraid that one day I’ll say, “I should’ve bought the Flashforge and saved the extra cash.” But for now, I don’t know. my printer arrives in two days, and I’m curious to see how it will be. I hope I made the right decision..
