best 3d printer for beginners what did you end up buying for your first one?

I bought a CC2 about a month ago and have not stopped printing on it since! The learning curve was steep, but with YouTube and Google, there isn't anything you can't figure out.

I have the Centauri Carbon and I'd recommend staying away from the CC2. You'd do yourself a huge favor jumping up to the Smapmaker U1 before they raise the price. The Snapmaker will save you the price difference in the waste filament it saves you in just the 1st year of ownership.

best 3d printer for printing functional parts, what should I consider?

Bambu are really good machines but there is a big issue when it comes to their ecosystem.. I'd stay away for the meantime until this is resolved. Now, I own both of these printers and are awesome, not to mention their price. The Centauri carbon 2, ANYCUBIC Kobra X, ANYCUBIC S1 Max. They all bring great results to the table. They still have flaws but not huge, and can be easily fixed and avoided with proper maintenance. All are workhorse and are part of my 3d farm. 😄
