Am I looking for a printer that doesn't exist?

I bought a P2S as my first printer in December. My experience has been basically the same as this poster's. Right around 2,000 hours and the extent of my issues has been a couple of blobs that cleaned up easily enough and a couple of filament jams. The only thing I've regularly changed is that I bought some Biqu plates and I up my printbed temp by 5-10C on most prints because it massively helps adhesion for me. Oh, and I'll bump max volumetric rate on Flashforge HS PLA from the 18 default in the Bambu generic profile to the 30 that Flashforge claims, but that's purely for speed, it works fine at the lower volume, just obviously not as fast. I haven't printed any ASA yet, though I have a couple of spools I got cheap; I just haven't had a use case for it yet

FlashForge Creator 5 Just Became My Top Recommendation

The Snapmaker U1 offers identical print quality and speed to the FlashForge Creator 5 but with a more robust feel, automated filament handling, and a cleaner purge system, albeit at a higher price point.

I’m Conflicted

Ive got the H2D, H2S, P2S and A1. The quality and speed is basically the same across all of them. Don't worry about wanting to upgrade in the future, you'll want multiple printers 😉 The P2S or X2D (the only one I havent got) is a fantastic printers if a 256mm bed is good enough, which fits 98% of stuff! The H2 series are overpriced unless you REALLY need that bigger bed, or very specialist engineering materials. I love the H2S its my main workhorse, but I print ridiculously big things. If you got a P2S or X2D you wouldnt regret your decision one bit. Make sure you get the AMS and lots of PLA its a great hobby youll love. Once you order, start browsing makerworld and collecting stuff you like. Might I suggest my own model of Bookfinity to start with 😁 https://makerworld.com/models/1978845

3D Printer Shopping

Resin printer is the answer but they are fiddly and a little dangerous. I'd probably suggest a Bambu a1 or p2s with a 0.2 mm extruder, as the print quality is still extremely good but they are substantially easier to use. You can go find some example prints and see if it's good enough.  I guess that's a starter printer you may choose to upgrade later, but it might be good enough to not.  Later may be a few years. You would have no issue selling the old one either.
